Hundreds of flag-waving supporters mobbed Indian prime minister-elect Narendra Modi as he arrived in New Delhi on Saturday morning, smiling and flashing victory signs after his party’s crushing victory in the 16th Lok Sabha elections. Modi, 63, flew to New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi international airport from his home state of Gujarat shortly before 11:00 am (0530 GMT) today to bask in the glory of a landslide for his Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that secured the biggest win by a single party in 30 years, according to AFP.
