Moga's hattrick powers Muktis to 3-0 win over Feni

A brilliant hattrick by Sudanese striker James Moga guided Muktijoddha Sangsad KC to a facile 3-0 goals win over Feni Soccer Club in the group B final round match of the GrameenPhone Federation Cup Football at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city Thursday, reports UNB.
With the day's outcome, the rejuvenated Muktijoddha Sangsad KC secured full three points to keep their semifinal hope alive while Feni Soccer Club's semifinal hope crumbled away with two consecutive defeats in the final round.
After the day's win, Muktijoddha Sangsad KC secured four points while Feni Soccer Club is yet to open their account, both playing two matches.
In the day's match, Moga struck twice in the first half and completed the hattrick scoring another goal in the second half. The winners led the first half 2-0.
Moga put the freedom fighters team ahead early in the 9th minute with a right-footer from inside the danger zone off a pass from Nigerian striker Bukola (1-0). He scored another goal in the 21st minute with a placing shot from inside the D-box capitalizing on a Rana's through pass from right wing (2-0).
Moga completed the winners tally in the 77th minute scoring his third goal with an angular shot from vantage position taking a close pass from Bukola (3-0).
Earlier, Muktijoddha Sangsad KC came close to scoring in the 16th minute but opponent custodian Pearujjaman brilliantly fisted away a Moga header from inside the D-box.
The result could have been 4-0 if Bukola's right-footer from the danger zone off Maruf pass would not return to play after hitting the side bar.
The freedom fighters team dominated the entire proceedings and notched their deserving victory while Feni Soccer Club failed to create any single attack during the match.
Today's (Friday's matches): Rahmatganj MFS vs Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club (3pm); Abahani Limited vs Sheikh Russell KC (5:30 pm).
