Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman, Md. Ridwanul Hoque promoted to DMD of UCB

Two senior officials of United Commercial Bank (UCB), Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman and Md. Ridwanul Hoque, have been promoted to the positions of deputy managing director (DMD), according to a press release.
Prior to their promotion, Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman served as senior executive vice president and head of Retail Business Division, while Md. Ridwanul Hoque served as senior executive vice president and head of Distribution & Strategy Division.
With over 27 years of extensive banking experience, Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman completed his master's degree in 1995. He began his banking career in May 1999 with ANZ Grindlays Bank. Following its merger, he joined Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh in 2001, where he successfully served in various key capacities, including head of corporate branch and director of Personal & Priority Client Acquisition. In October 2022, he assumed the role of head of Retail Business Division at UCB. He also served as the head of Service Quality and Imperial Banking. Currently, he is leading the execution of the bank's retail business strategies.
Md. Ridwanul Hoque obtained his BBA and MBA degrees from the University of Chittagong. He boasts over 24 years of experience in the banking sector. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership across the banking sector by serving in crucial roles at various local and multinational financial institutions, including HSBC and Bank Alfalah. Prior to joining UCB, he served as the head of retail & SME business division at NCC Bank. Currently at UCB, he oversees the operations of all branches, sub-branches network, the agent banking division, and the alternative delivery channel division.
