Mohammedan earn maiden win in low-scoring match

In their second match of the ongoing Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, Mohammedan Sporting Club registered their maiden win beating Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity by five wickets in Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city on Saturday, reports UNB.
In their first match of the season, Mohammedan lost to Shinepukur Cricket Club at the same venue.
On Saturday, Khelaghar batted first and posted a small total of 148 for all wickets in 49 overs. Captain Nadif Chowdhury was their best batter scoring 33 runs while number nine Iftekhar Sajjad scored the second highest of 24 runs.
For Mohammedan, left-arm spinner Nazmul Islam Apu bagged four wickets conceding 18 runs in 10 overs while Mohammad Hafeez sclaped three and Shuvagata Hom took two wickets.
In the other match of the day, Tasamul Haque and Sikandar Raja guided Shinepukur to 280 for six against Brothers Union scoring 68 and 74 respectively while Anisul Islam scored 51 off 51 balls as well.
