Mohiuddin moves against conviction in jail killing case

Retired major AKM Mohiuddin Ahmed Monday filed an appeal with the court against conviction in the jail killing case. The court received the appeal, sent through the authorities of Dhaka Central Jail, a senior official said. Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Motiur Rahman on Oct 20, 2004, sentenced him to life term imprisonment for his role in the killing of four national leaders inside Dhaka Central Jail in 1975. Mohiuddin was also sentenced to death in absentia for his role in the killing of independence leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. —bdnews24.com
