MoneyGram to stage road show against Hundi trade

MoneyGram International, a leading global money transfer company, Monday launched a street drama to make the citizens aware of the negative impacts of money transfer through Hundi on the country's economy.
Yakub Ali, chairman of NCC Bank Ltd, inaugurated the road show styled 'street drama' at its head office in the city.
MoneyGram in co-operation with NCC Bank and Thengamara Mahila Sabuj Sangha (TMSS), an NGO, are jointly organising the street shows for a week.
It will be staged in 11 spots of three districts, Faridpur, Kishoreganj (Bhairab) and Narsindhi initially. The organisers plan to expand the show nationwide at a later date.
Under the corporate social responsibility (CRS) programme of MoneyGram, these street shows will convey the message, "Hundi is not the right way to receive money in our country."
