Mongla-Ghashiakhali channel: Drive launched to remove mounds

The local administration has launched a drive to execute the Prime Minister’s order for removing illegal embankments and mounds built on the mouths of over 50 canals along the Mongla-Ghashiakhali channel in the Kumarkhali River. The drive kicked off on Tuesday as MP from Bagerhat-3 constituency Talukdar Abdul Khaleque led the action of the local administration in the breaching of mound laid on the mouth of Orabunia canal of the Kumarkhali River in Rampal Sadar upazila, according to a news agency.
