Monju, Munshi Anwar submit wealth statements to ACC

The wealth statement of Jatiya Party Chairman Anwar Hossain Monju and his family was submitted to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Sunday, disclosing that his wife Tasmima Hossain possesses much more wealth than Monju himself, reports UNB.
ACC Secretary Delwar Hossain received the wealth statement of Monju submitted by his wife. Monju, a former communications minister, is believed to be abroad at the moment.
The statement shows Monju possesses wealth worth about Tk 45.40 million against a loan of over Tk 70 million meaning he is highly indebted, while his wife Tasmima, a former lawmaker, owns wealth worth about Tk 177.80 million.
Among his significant wealth, Monju has plots of land in six places, shares in nine companies, five bank accounts, one BMW car worth about 5.50 million, US$ 17,231 and cash Tk 1.75 million in hand.
Among her notable wealth, Tasmima has a four-storied building in Dhanmondi on 33 decimals of land, plots of land in different places, shares in 20 companies, including Tk 85.40 million and Tk 34.80 million in two companies, nine bank accounts, 11 fixed deposits, US$3,433 and cash Tk 0.43 million in hand.
Meanwhile, former chief conservator of forests Munshi Anwarul Islam also submitted the accounts of his and family's wealth through representative. He, his wife, three sons and one daughter in-law possess wealth worth about Tk 72.80 million.
