Moon sighting committee sits Wednesday evening

The National Moon Sighting Committee will sit on Wednesday evening to ascertain the commencement of the Holy Ramadan – the month of fasting for Muslims. The meeting will be held in the conference room of Islamic Foundation in the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Complex at 7:30pm. Religious Affairs Minister, also president of the committee, Principal Motiur Rahman is expected to presided over the meeting. People have been requested to inform the Islamic Foundation over telephone or fax if the new crescent moon of the Arabic month of Ramadan is sighted anywhere in Banglades’s sky.
