More arms, ammo recovered in Habiganj

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel on the seventh day of their drive on Monday recovered more cache of firearms and ammunitions from Satchhari jungles along the Indian border at Chunarughat upazila in Habiganj district. The RAB team which is continuing their drive in Satchhari jungles recovered 54 anti-rockets, 633 rounds of 7.62mm bullets and a barrel from a bunker in the jungles in the morning, Assistant Police Super Sana Samiur Rahman of RAB-9 confirmed the fresh discovery of arms haul. Earlier on June 3, the RAb-9 team, led by additional director general Ziaul Ahsan, conducted a special drive in Satachhari at 10:00am and recovered huge arms and ammo from two bunkers. They halted the drive in the evening due to heavy rain. The team in the morning of June 4 recovered 222 (80 mm) anti-rockets, 248 rocket-chargers, four machineguns (7.62), five barrels, 11,667 rounds of 7.62 mm bullets, 1320 rounds of 12.7 mm bullets and a rocket launcher. After four days, the elite force again recovered more arms and ammo from the remote jungles today, according to UNB.
