More cases against Sheikh Hasina
One over custodial death of BDR carnage accused

A murder case has been filed against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 12 others over the death of BDR carnage case accused Abdur Rahim in jail.
Abdur Rahim, then deputy assistant director (DAD) of former BDR, which was later renamed as BGB, was an accused in the case lodged over the carnage that took place in Pilkhana in 2010. He died in jail on 29 July that year.
DAD Rahim's son Advocate Abdul Aziz filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Aktaruzzaman.
After recording the statement of the complainant, the court asked the local police station to inform whether any unnatural death case was filed after the death.
The other prominent accused in the case are- fomer Army chief General Aziz Ahmed, lawyer Mosharraf Hossain Kazal, Ashraful Islam Khan, Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Sheikh Selim, Sheikh Helal, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Mirza Azam, Hasanul Haque Inu. Another 200 unnamed people have also been accused in the case.
BSS report from Narsingdi adds: A murder case was filed Sunday against Sheikh Hasina, former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and 350 unnamed persons with a Narsingdi court.
Angur Mia, brother-in-law of labourer Zaman, 17, who was killed in firing allegedly by the Awami League cadres, lodged the case with the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Rakibul Haque.
The court ordered the Madhabdi Police Station to register the case in connection with the killing of Zaman, son of Shahidul Islam of Deouldangra village under Nandail Police Station of Narsingdi.
The case details said that Zaman received gunshots on July 21 when he was taking part in a student-public protest in front of Meherpara Union Parishad under Madhabdi Police Station in Narsingdi.
When the agitating students and people were chanting slogans against the repression and fascist activities of the last Awami League government, a gang of 300 to 350 terrorists attacked on them with sticks and firearms at the directives of the party top leaders.
Several bullets ripped through the body of Zaman including his belly.
The agitating students first took bullet -hit Zaman to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital from where he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated. He succumbed to his injuries at the DMCH on July 25.
Report by bdnews24.com from Bogura adds: Another new murder case has been filed against deposed premier Sheikh Hasina and former road transport minister Obaidul Quader.
Bogura Sadar Police Station chief Saihan Oliullah said on Sunday afternoon that Khadija, the wife of the murdered BNP leader Zillur Rahman, had petitioned for the case to be filed on the evening of Saturday.
Zillur was a leader of the BNP in Gabtoli municipality.
A total of 157 individuals, including Hasina and Quader, have been named as defendants in the case. In addition, 300-400 unidentified people have also been charged with murder, according to the OC.
According to the case statement, Zillur was killed during the one-point movement led by students in the Jhautala area of the city on Aug 4.
Among the other suspects are Bogura district Awami League president Mujibur Rahman Majnu, general secretary Ragebul Ahsan Ripu, Hasina's son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, former law minister Anisul Huq, former home minister Asaduzzaman Kamal, former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, former police officer Abdul Kahar Akand, former ICT minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, and JaSoD President Hasanul Haq Inu.
