More individuals, organisations donate to CA's relief fund

Thirty-three more individuals, institutions and national and international organisations Wednesday donated Tk 30,244,508 and US$ 1,504,000 to the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund in aid of cyclone hit people, report agencies.
Those who have donated fund until 2:30 pm today are Turkish Ambassador on behalf of his government US$ 1 million, Korean Ambassador on behalf of Korean government US$ .50 million, one day's salary of staff and officers of Health Ministry and its departments Tk 11,334,404, one day's salary of employees and officers of Privatisation Commission Tk 16,790 and Dhaka City College Tk .38 million.
Among others, Anjuman Mofidul Islam donated Tk .50 million, one day's salary of staff and officers of Bangladesh Audit and Accounts department Tk .70 million, Barclays Capital Tk .50 million, Thakurgaon District Association Tk 50,000, one day's salary of officers and employees of Bangladesh Shilpa Bank Tk .22 million, Industrial units under BCIC, Dhaka Tk 3. 1 million, Rajshahi University Tk .30 million, Chittagong EPZ Tk 1.52 million, Dhaka EPZ Tk 2.97 million, Comilla EPZ Tk .26 million, Adamjee EPZ Tk .29 million, Karnaphuli EPZ Tk 90,000 and US$ 4,000, Mongla EPZ Tk 79,000, Ishwardi EPZ Tk 65,000, one day's salary of officers and staff of BEPZA Tk 1.43 lakh, one day's salary of Bangladesh Shilpa Rin Shongstha Tk 0.1 million.
Besides, Chittagong Stock Exchange Ltd Tk 1 million, BKMEA Tk 2.5 million, Ana Olga Martinez Sanchez, JHK Traders SL Tk 1.25 million, Satsango Bangladesh Tk .50 million, Gulshan Club Tk 1 million, Gulshan Joggers Society Tk .10 million, Human Resource Development Co Ltd Tk 1 million, Gulshan Health Club Tk .10 million, Glaxo Smith-Kline Employees Union Chittagong Tk .10 million, ACC Secretary Muklesur Rahman and his family Tk 22,000, Syed M Jasim Uddin, Bangladeshi expatriate in Oman Tk 26,000 and Khandoker Rashiduzzaman, Baridhara, Dhaka Tk 10,000 contributed to the CA's Relief and Welfare Fund.
Pakistani navy ships: Two Pakistani naval ships Wednesday delivered medicines and dry and canned foods to Bangladesh authorities at Chittagong seaport for distribution among the cyclone victims.
Muslim Aid: The UK based international relief and development organisation Muslim Aid and Canada have raised $700,000 for victims of cyclone Sidr.
At a press briefing in Dhaka, officials said Muslim Aid had allocated $400,000 so far and that Canada would be giving $300,000 for relief and rehabilitation work.
Canadian MP Jim Karygiannis, who arrived in Bangladesh for a five-day visit, toured Shoronkhola in Bagerhat, one of the worst hit areas, where he witnessed the work of Muslim Aid Bangladesh and its partner Canadian-based humanitarian organisation Global Medic.
