More job opportunities for female workers abroad

The overseas employment sector especially for female workers witnessed a substantial growth in recent time with officials saying 56,400 workers went abroad with jobs last year, reports BSS.
"The sector is gradually growing as 56,400 female workers went abroad last year with jobs and we expect a substantial growth in manpower export soon," Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Secretary Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan told the news agency Saturday over a phone.
He said, a large number of female workers are going abroad with jobs everyday and around 13 per cent female workers went with housemaids and readymade garment jobs.
He said the government took a massive programme to resolve the unemployment problems through increasing vocational training programmes for unemployed jobseekers and creating more overseas employment.
"The government launched training course, language course, insurance system, personal cell phone and others to ensure worker's facility abroad aimed at friendly workplaces," Dr Zafar said.
According to BMET sources, as many as 56,400 female workers went abroad in 2013, up from 37,304 in 2012. Besides, a total of 276,262 female workers went to different countries, including the Middle East, in a period of 23 years from 1991 to 2013.
