In Nilphamari sadar Upazila, 15 dealers will sell rice to the ultra poor people instead of 10 dealers. Sources said the Government's sale of OMS rice at Tk 24 per kg with a maximum of 5 kg for each person started in Nilphamari district to keep price of rice at a tolerable level. The open market sale (OMS) of rice could not bring down the price of rice in Nilphamari district as it was expected.
