More research on war of liberation stressed

RANGPUR, Oct 29 (BSS): Academicians, researchers, literary personalities and leaders of Rangapur Gobeshona Parishad (RGP) have stressed on conducting more research on the War of Liberation to establish true history of the nation.
They were addressing daylong programmes including organizational conference and discussion meeting organised on Friday by RGP in observance of its ninth founding anniversary at Rangpur Shishu Academy auditorium in the city.
Renowned educationist, researcher and president of RGP Prof Sufi Motahar Hossain presided over the programmes moderated by assistant professor of Bangla Department of Begum Rokeya University (BRU) Dr Tuhin Wadud and Hosen Ara Munshi.
Deputy commissioner of Rangpur BM Enamul Haque and executive president of RGP and treasurer of BRU Prof Mozammel Haque, addressed.
Gaibandha unit president of RGP Gazi Mazharul Mannan, Lalmonirhat unit president Prof Nazrul Islam, Kurigram unit president Principal Advocate Abraham Lincoln and Nilphamari unit president Principal Hafizur Rahman also spoke.
General secretary of RGP Dr Zakiul Islam Faruqi presented annual report of the organisation in the conference session in the afternoon.
Mostafa Toffael Hossain presented annual report of the organisation for Kurigram district, Prof Moktar Hossain for Lalmonirhat, Zaber Hossain Pradhan for Nilphamari, Dr Tuhin Wadud for Kurigram and Gazi Mazharul Mannan for Gaibandha.
The academicians, researchers, literary personalities and leaders of RGP took part in the day long discussion on the heroic role of greater Rangpur during the War of Liberation in 1971.
