Morocco starts exporting vehicles to Europe

RABAT, June 13 (Xinhua): Renault-Maroc, a subsidiary of Renault France, has just exported the first batch of 400 "Dacia Logan" vehicles to France and Spain, therefore jump starting its ambitious programme to export the Logan brand to Europe.
With the export of the 400 vehicles to Europe, Morocco has now joined the club of vehicle exporting countries and confirmed its industrial capabilities as well as ambitions, Moroccan News Agency (MAP) reported yesterday.
"This is a first one by Morocco's automobile industry" and marks a major milestone for the company, Philippe Cornet, Renault- Maroc's Chief Executive officer, said.
"It is also the first time that Morocco is exporting a finished industrial product such as an automobile, beside textiles, to the European market," Cornet added, saying this was an exceptional event and a challenge to Morocco's automobile industry.
