Morshed Alam new chairman of Mercantile Bank Limited

Renowned businessman and industrialist Morshed Alam MP has been elected as the chairman of Mercantile Bank Limited at the 345th board meeting of the bank on Thursday, says a statement.
He is the sponsor-director of the Bank.
Morshed Alam is also the Founder Chairman of 'Bengal Group of Industries'. He has been elected a member of parliament from Noakhali-2 (Senbag-Sonaimuri) in the 10th and 11th national elections.
He is also the chairman of private satellite channel RTV and a member of the trustee board of Peoples University of Bangladesh.
Besides, he is involved in financial services, export-oriented textile and apparel industry, real estate and construction materials, hotel and resorts and many other business and industries in the country.
He was the chairman of National Life Insurance Company Limited.
Morshed Alam is well known for his benevolent contributions to society through different Social welfare activities, education, health and social development movements.
