Mosharaf Hossain laid to rest

Veteran freedom fighter (FF) and former parliamentarian Dr Mosharaf Hossain was laid to rest at Mirpur Intellectuals' Graveyard in the city Wednesday, reports BSS.
He died at the age of 79. Mosharaf left behind his wife, three sons, four daughters and a host of relatives and well- wishers to mourn his death.
President M Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and Deputy Speaker M Fazle Rabbi Miah and Chief Whip ASM Firoj expressed deep shock at the death of Mosharaf Hossain. Namaj-e-janaza of Hossain was held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) .
People from all walks of life, including ministers, lawmakers, and political leaders, joined the Zanaza. Police accorded guard of honour in tribute to theĀ  FF.
Later, floral wreaths were placed at the coffin on behalf of President M Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and Deputy Speaker M Fazle Rabbi Miah and Chief Whip ASM Firoj.
Mosharaf Hossain served as heath director of Mujibnagar Government and he was awarded with Independence Award for his significant contribution to the country's War of Liberation.
Hossain was the spouse of Ashrafunessa Mosharaf, president of Bangladesh Mohila Awami League, women wing of ruling Bangladesh Awami League.
