Mosharraf falls sick, sent to Dhaka

Senior BNP leader Khandker Mosharraf Hossain has been shifted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital in Dhaka from Kashimpur jail in Gazipur. Khandker Mosharraf Hossain was admitted to coronary care unit (CCU) on Wednesday morning after he complained of chest pain. “Father felt chest pain in the morning. Later prison doctors brought him to Dhaka,” the BNP leader’s son Maruf Hossain said. The former-health minister was arrested on March 12 in a money laundering case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission. Mosharraf Hossain has been the BNP Standing Committee member since 1994. The former MP of Comilla-2 constituency was energy and mineral resources minister during the BNP’s 1991-1996 regime and health minister in the BNP-Jamaat coalition government between 2001-2006, according to bdnews24.com.
