Police on Wednesday evening released Moshrefa Mishu, President of Biplobi Oikya Front, a labour organisation, hours after arresting her before she could join a protest by Tuba factory workers. Mishu was picked up by police at the Gulshan-Badda Link Road around 3pm on Wednesday. Mishu was going to join a demonstration in support of the demand to reopen of Tuba Group’s garment factories. Police whisked her away on a police van to Badda Police Station and she was allowed to leave the police station four hours later around 8:30pm, said Biplobi Oikya Front member Sadia Afrin Shanta. In the meantime, the rally held to realise the Tuba garment workers demands was over, she added, according to a news agency.
