FE Report | Monday, 31 December 2018

Most of the voting centres in Dhaka city and Narayanganj city corporation areas hardly saw any polling agents of BNP-led Jatiya Oikya Front (JOF) during the eleventh parliamentary election held on Sunday.
In contrast, agents of the Awami League-led grand alliance were found present at all the polling centres in the capital city. However, a few belonging to Zaker Party and Islami Oikya Jote were seen at some polling centres.
Such scenes were observed during the visit to several voting centres in Dhaka and Narayanganj by a team of journalists from the Financial Express.
The centres where there were no polling agents of Oikya Front include Monipur High School and College at Mirpur-2 under Dhaka-15 constituency, Badsha Faisal Institute, Adabor, Begum Nurjahan Memorial Girls High School, Adabor and Mohammadpur Government College under Dhaka-13 constituency and Banani Bidya Niketan under Dhaka-17 constituency.
Besides, no polling agents of Oikya Front were seen at Motijheel Ideal School & College centre, Shahjahanpur Mirza Abbas Women Degree College centre under Dhaka-8 constituency, KM Sadequr Rahman High School and Kamrangir Char Govt Primary School, Panchrukhi Govt Primary School centres under Narayanganj-2 constituency, and Malipara Brahman Baogaon Govt Primary School centre under Narayanganj-3 constituency.
However, four agents of Jatiya Oikya Front were seen at MDC Model School centre and three agents at Dr Mohammad Shahidullah School centre under Dhaka-16 constituency. There were more than 30 polling booths at MDC Model School centre.
Presiding officers of those centres told the FE that they had not seen any polling agents of Oikya Front from the very beginning of the day.
