Most important is public security

This is holy month of Ramadan. We are fasting and praying for getting almighty Allah's blessings for building our character. From the start of this holy month, the telephone terrorism has been making the lives of citizens miserable. People around us often get unwanted phone calls demanding money. As a result, the business community and the good citizens are suffering anxiety, tension and frustration. brThis is a very bad sign for the country and its development as many people cannot work because of such troubles. The policy makers should give top priority to stop telephone terrorism. The government needs to attach top priority to public safety and security. All good deeds of a government become zero, if it fails to ensure security and safety of the citizens. brThe policy-makers should take up the issue showing zero tolerance to the terrorists. The main stream political parties should also help the government in this regard. We also need to evaluate both the good and the bad sides of phones, particularly mobile phones. brTo what extent the mobile phones can be acceptable needs to be decided also. We have to keep it in mind that the nation needs modernisation for the development of the country and not to put the people into anxiety, tension and frustration.brSanaul Haquebr521, DOHS, Baridhara.
