Most MNCs see erosion of prices

Majority number of listed multinational companies (MNCs) lost share prices in last week ranging from 0.11 per cent to 14.12 per cent amid the sharp declining trend of the capital market observed throughout the week.
Out of 12 MNCs, the share prices of 10 companies declined while remaining two companies managed to escape loss.
Heidelberg Cement Bangladesh witnessed the highest price correction on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) which featured five sessions in last week.
On Thursday, the share price of Heidelberg Cement Bangladesh closed at Tk 125.3 each with a loss of 14.12 per cent or Tk 20.6 from the closing price of the previous week.
Of other companies, the share price of Linde Bangladesh closed at Tk 1174 each on Thursday. At the end of the previous week, the company's share price closed at Tk 1251.20 each. As a result, the company's share price declined 6.17 per cent or Tk 77.20 in last week.
The share price of Marico Bangladesh declined 0.11 per cent or Tk 1.7 and closed at Tk 1601.5 each on Thursday.
The share price of Bata Shoe Company (Bangladesh) closed at Tk 673.8 each with a loss of 0.94 per cent or Tk 6.40.
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Bangladesh witnessed a price correction of 5.97 per cent or Tk 99.8 to close at Tk 1571.80 each on Thursday.
In last week, the share price of LafargeHolcim Bangladesh declined 4.44 per cent or Tk 1.80 and closed at Tk 38.70 each on Thursday.
Following investors' increased participation, the company topped the scrip wise weekly turnover chart featuring a value of Tk 865.65 million on the DSE.
RAK Ceramics (Bangladesh) witnessed a price correction of 5.39 per cent or Tk 1.5 to close at Tk 26.30 each on Thursday.
The share price of Reckitt Benckiser (Bd) declined 3.52 per cent or Tk 101.5 and closed at Tk 2776.30 each on Thursday.
On Thursday, the share price of British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company closed at Tk 902.90 each with a loss of 2.75 per cent or Tk 25.60 from the closing price of the previous week.
Out of five sessions, the share price of Grameenphone declined in four sessions. At the end of the week, the company's share price closed at Tk 242.20 each with a loss of 3.43 per cent or Tk 8.60.
In last week, two MNCs managed to escape loss on the premier bourse DSE.
Of those companies, the share price of Berger Paints Bangladesh advanced 0.13 per cent or Tk 1.80 and closed at Tk 1300.30 each on Thursday.
Singer Bangladesh witnessed a price hike of 3.02 per cent or Tk 4.80 to close at Tk 163.30 each on Thursday on the premier bourse DSE.
