The panel led by Mostafiz - Gani Ahmad won a landslide victory in the triennial election of the Feni Samity, Dhaka, bagging all the posts of the 49-member executive committee.
The election was held peacefully at the Motijheel T & T School and College in the city November 22. Casting of votes continued from morning till evening without break.
Mostafizur Rahman Dulal, chairman of Crown Group, director of NCC Bank and National Life and Alhaj Gani Ahmad, chairman and managing director of Din Group have been re-elected president and general secretary of the samity for the year 2008-2011, said a press release.
Among others, Abdul Awal Minto, former president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), Mahbubul Alam Tara, former whip of Bangladesh Jatiy Sangsad, Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, editor of the Bangladesh Observer, Professor Joynal Abedin (VP Joynal), former MP of Bangladesh Jatiyo Sangsad, Golam Mostafa, president of Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) and Engineer Mokbul Ahmad, the first chairman of Bangladesh Railways Board were present during the voting.
