Mother, daughter stabbed dead in N\\\'ganj

A man allegedly stabbed his wife and daughter to death following a family feud in Siddhirganj area in Narayanganj city on Saturday. The deceased were identified as Mayna Begum, 29, and her daughter Nurjahan Akther Swapna, 13. Quoting neighbours, police said Sumon Miah, 30, engaged in an altercation with his wife Mayna over a family dispute at their residence in Hirajheel Muktanagar area on Friday night. As a sequel to the brawl, Sumon stabbed his wife with a sharp weapon around 4:00am on Saturday. He also stabbed his daughter Swapna when she tried to save her mother. Both of them died on the spot. Being informed, police arrested Sumon from his residence and seized a sharp weapon from the spot, according to UNB.
