Mother drowns son in Narail

Narail, Mar 21 (UNB): In a shocking incident, a woman drowned her two-year-old son at Paikmari village in Sadar Upazila early Friday following a marital discord.
The victim was identified as Abdullah Quazi, son of Jasim Quazi of the village.
Police and family sources said Jasim used to spend a lazy life playing only cards which led to a dispute with his wife Rikta Begum.
Even the discord forced the couple to be separated. However, they united again through remarriage.
Following a quarrel over the issue, Rikta threw her son in a pond near their house and tried to flee to her parents' house. However, locals caught her and handed her over to police. The law enforcers also recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.
