Mother Language Day observed in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 21: The International Mother Language Day was observed with due solemnity in the port city of Chattogram on Wednesday.
Different political parties and social organisations placed wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar in the early hours of the 21st February.
To mark the day, all government organisations, socio-cultural, political parties, professional bodies, volunteer organisations and educational institutions observed the day with a renewed pledge to build a happy and prosperous nation.
The district administration took elaborate programmes to observe the day. The programmes included placing of wreaths at Shaheed Minar at Municipal High School, hoisting of the national flag half-mast at all government, semi-government, autonomous and private buildings, including educational institutions.
Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Reazaul Karim Chowdhury, Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram Tofael Islam, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Chattogram Range Nur E Alam Mina, Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police Krisno Pada Roy, among others, paid tributes to the martyrs.
