Motijheel Govt Boys' High School needs expansion

Friday, 14 January 2022

Motijheel Govt Boys' High School was established in 1957 with the vision of providing secondary students with quality education. Since its inception, the school has been moving forward as an educational centre of excellence in Dhaka city. During 1960s', 70s' and 80s', the boys-only school achieved excellent academic results in public examinations. Many former students of the school have served, and have been serving the country in leadership capacities in various sectors. In terms of ensuring quality education, the school still is one of the finest institutions in the capital city. However, the school does not enrol too many students.
With two large playgrounds, the size of the school campus is 7.5 acres where another multi-storey building can easily be constructed. The old building can also be demolished and reconstructed with modern amenities. If built, a new multi-storey building will be able to accommodate more students and teachers. Many students from nearby localities will then be able to study in the famed school, and serve the country in various capacities in the years to come. To cope with the fourth industrial revolution, we need an educated workforce. And for this, schools like Motijheel Govt Boys' High School need to be expanded on a priority basis.
