Motorbike runs over a child in Jessore

JESSORE, May 5: A motorbike run over a child and killed him on the spot at Bankra under Jhikargachha Upazila in Jessore Thursday. The motorbike took away the life of the child as he came out of his home on the street on Jhikargachha- Bankra Road in the morning. The child was identified as Emon, a two-and-a half-year old son of Sazzad Hossain of Bankra village under Jhikargachha Upazila in Jessore. Police recovered the body and sent it to the Jessore General Hospital for autopsy. Youth killed in road accident Another report from BSS says: A young man was killed in a road accident at the Navaran Bazar area in Sharsha Upazila of the district Wednesday. The dead was identified as Selim Hossen (30), son of Nur Mohammad of Sharsha Upazila. Police said, the accident occurred when a Jessore bound truck hit Selim while he was crossing the road. Selim died on the spot. Trader found dead Another report adds: A timber trader was found dead at a residential hotel room at the Monihar bus stand area in the town Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Zakir hossen (52), son of Tayeb Ali of Dattapara village under Tongi Upazila in Gazipur district. Police said, timber trader Zakir rent a room of hotel Koko at Monihar bus stand area four days ago. On Wednesday afternoon the victim entered the room and died of cardiac arrest. Seven students fall sick Another report says: At least seven students of two primary schools in Jessore Sadar Upazila fell sick after taking de- worming tablets Wednesday. The schools are Malonchi Government primary school and South Kamalpur registered primary school. Among the sick students three were admitted to the Jessore General Hospital while others were given treatment in different clinics. Yunus Ali, headmaster of South Kamalpur registered primary School said, health department officials asked them to feed de-worming tablets to 245 students. After taking the tablets seven students fell sick within an hour, he said. The students fainted and started vomiting after taking the tablets. Jessore sadar Upazila health and family planning officer Rashidunnesa visited the sick students.
