Motorjan Sramik Union threatens transport strike

KISHOREGANJ, Dec 24 (UNB): About a thousand workers of Motorjan Sramik Union staged demonstration in the town against its General Secretary Sirajul Islam accusing him of misappropriating Tk 65 million.
They also submitted a five-point demand to the Deputy Commissioner with a threat to transport strike.
The demands include audit of the accounts of the Union and punishment to those misappropriated the funds, enlisting conductors as voters in Union election, scrapping of fake voters' list and cancellation of election set for January 4.
Addressing a rally, Convener of the Union Shaheed Mia said Sirajul Islam was illegally occupying the position of general secretary for the last nine years and misappropriated Union's huge fund.
