MoU signed with Singaporean polytechnic institute

The Education Ministry Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a Singaporean educational institution to get support from it to develop the country’s technical education, according to a news agency.
Director General of the Directorate of Technical Education Shajahan Mia and founder of the Institute of Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore, Lee Cheng Ton signed the deal on behalf of their respective sides in Singapore, according to a message received here in the evening.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid was present at the deal signing ceremony.
Under the agreement, the Institute of Nanyang Polytechnic will train some 420 teachers and officials of the Bangladesh government to build up their expertise on technical education.
Later in the day, Nahid met Education and Law Minister of Singapore Indrani Raja. During the meeting, they discussed different bilateral issues.
