MoU to develop women freelancers, entrepreneurs inked

An initiative has been launched to create women freelancers and entrepreneurs in the country.
In this connection, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Access to Information (a2i) Programme of Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Foundation and Bangladesh Women in Technology (BWIT) in the city on Wednesday, reports BSS.
Project Director of A2i Programme Kabir Bin Anwar, Managing Director of SME Foundation Dr Syed Md Ihsanul Karim and BWIT President Luna Samsoddaha signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
Under the MoU, initially, 300 women will be given one month training on graphics design, data entry and basic computer literacy to make them freelancers and entrepreneurs.
Later, 4000 women at upazila level will be imparted trainings on different information and communication technology (ICT)-based programmes to become freelancers and entrepreneurs.
