Moudud, Mahbub get HC bail

The High Court (HC) on Monday granted bail to BNP leaders Barrister Moudud Ahmed and Khandker Mahbub Hossain in separate cases. An HC bench comprising Justice Naima Haider and Justice Jafar Ahmed passed the order following two bail petitions filed by their lawyers. Defence lawyer Barrister Ehsanur Rahman said now there is no bar to the release of the BNP leaders as both have secured bail in all the cases. The HC granted six months’ bail to Barrister Moudud Ahmed in a case filed against him for purportedly grabbing a government house in Gulshan in the capital. Besides, the High Court granted bail to Khandker Mahbub Hossain in a case filed with Ramna Police Station. Advocate Sheikh Mohammad Ali and Advocate Zainul Abedin who stood for Khandaler Mahbub Hossain said the bail order will remain in force until the disposal of the rule, according to a news agency.
