Move on to make party loyalists presiding officers: BNP

BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged that the government is conspiring to make ruling party loyalists presiding officers for the remaining upazila elections in a bid to manipulate the results.  “We’ve come to know from different upazilas and districts that the government has asked the authorities concerned to make officials loyal to it presiding officers for the next phases of the upazila polls changing the existing set. They’re doing this just to manipulate the election results,” he said Monday. Rizvi made the allegation at a press briefing at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office, according to a news agency.
