Move to hike energy prices: CPB, BSD threaten hartal

Two left leaning parties -- Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) and Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) -– have threatened to call a countrywide hartal if the government does not shun its plan to raise the prices of gas, liquid fuel and electricity, said CPB general secretary Syed Abu Zafar Ahmed while addressing a rally in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Wednesday, according to a news agency.
