FE REPORT | Friday, 3 May 2024

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that they are still on streets to continue movement until the fall of the government for restoring people's voting and other rights.
"BNP activists are now on streets and will remain until the fall of the government. Our movement will continue until people's voting and other rights are established," he said while distributing pet bottled pure drinking water and oral saline in Badda area of the capital amid a sweltering heatwave on Thursday.
"We are here just for in and out from jail. We're still on the streets despite oppression from the government. We wouldn't bow down to any pressure or oppression."
"Obaidul Quader and their associates used to tell lies like Srabon (a Bengali month that mostly sees rains) due to out of their frustrations," Mr Rizvi said.
"They (the ruling class) have looted BASIC Bank, got involved with the Hall Mark scam, extracted money from Padma Bridge and flyovers and siphoned off abroad. They've built their second homes in Malaysia, Canada and Australia and sent their offspring, near and dear ones and relatives there."
The BNP senior leader alleged that the government was not doing anything for the welfare of workers rather four workers were killed as they demanded their salaries. Labour leader Aminul was killed by police shooting.
People didn't forget the Rana Plaza and Tazreen Fashion tragedies where several hundred garment workers lost their lives, he said.
