MoWR launches digital services

The Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR) launched on Sunday 162 digital services to provide hassle-free services to the people at reduced time and cost.
"We have digitised the services as part of the efforts to make the country Digital Bangladesh," State minister for water resources Col. (retd.) Zahid Faruque said, inaugurating the digital services at a function at the ministry.
"It is the gift from the ministry in the Mujib Barsho. We will increase such services in future," he added.
The function was told that the ministry will provide 33 services and its departments 129 by using the MyGov platform.
Through the platform, the service seekers could submit application with necessary papers to the ministry and know the progress of their expected services. It will cut time and cost both for the service providers and recipients.
It will also help ease filing leave application, application for approval of PRL, maternity leave, application for lien, regularisation of jobs, departmental cases and paying utility bills.
Of the digital services, the Bangladesh Water Development Board will provide 31 services while Bangladesh Haor and Wetland Development Board 21, water resources planning organisation 26, River Research Institute 30 and Joint Rivers Commissioner 21.
State minister for information communication and technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, deputy minister for water resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim and senior secretary of ICT ministry NM Ziaul Alam were present as the special guests at the function, presided over by senior secretary of the MoWR Kabir Bin Anwar.
