MP Chhabi Biswas hurt in AL-BNP clash

A member of parliament (MP) of the ruling party has been injured in an attack near Alia Madrasa in Old Dhaka’s Bakshibazar during a clash between the activists of Awami League and BNP on Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses said Awami League MP Chhabi Biswas was assaulted and injured amid series of clashes between the supporters of the BNP and the AL when Khaleda Zia was appearing in a makeshgift court set up in Alia Madrasa premises for hearing of 2 graft cases. Ruling party sources said the AL lawmaker from Netrakona has been injured during a clash between the supporters of the ruling party and BNP in Bakshibazar. He was attacked near the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday. The attackers set fire to his car. He was rescued and rushed to the (DMCH) for treatment, according to private TV channels.
