CHITTAGONG, Mar 25: Chittagong Chamber president and ruling party MP MA Latif today criticised the exhibition of variety show and gambling in the name of 'independence fair' in the city.
In a statement to the press he said as many as 38 fairs are being organised by different socio-cultural organisations in the city. The gambling and obscene dances are performed in these fairs which lead the students to astray, he said.
"These unsocial activities go against the spirit of Independence Day and are misleading the society, which is unwelcome," MP Latif said.
He said that these things were happening in front of the police.
