MPs with no flat to get priority
Monday, 17 February 2014
The MPs having no flat or house of their own in Dhaka City will be allocated flats on a priority basis in the MP buildings (NAM flats) at Manik Mia Avenue and Nakhalparha in Dhaka City, reports bdnews24.com.
The House Committee, which takes care of housing and other facilities for the MPs, made the decision at its second meeting on Sunday, one of its members Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury told bdnews24.com.
Earlier on Feb 9, it had decided on not allotting flats to ministers at the NAM Bhaban.
An MP holding post of ministerial or state ministerial or a deputy ministerial status can reside in the NAM Bhaban if they wish, said Mahmud.
In that case, they must send all the house rent, service charge they receive from the government to the Parliament Secretariat through treasury invoice, Chowdhury explained.
