MSC-Abahani lock-horn match today

Popular Abahani take on Mohammedan Sporting Club in the third and last best-of-three football match today (Friday) with both teams optimistic in clinching the series.
The match gets underway at 4:30 pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city.
Earlier on Monday, Mohammedan took a 1-0 lead beating Abahani by 5-4 goals in tie-breaker in the first match, but Abahani levelled the three-match series 1-1 beating arch-rivals Mohammedan by 2-1 goals in the second match Wednesday.
Mohammedan Manager Amirul Islam Babu said they would take the field to win the third match to ensure the series win.
He said that all the players are mentally fit and ready to put up their best to clinch the series. No injury or card problem.
Abahani manager Stayajit Das Rupu is also hopeful of winning the match. "We would try our utmost," he said. "Playing against Mohammedan is always challenging for Abahani. We will give our best to win."
Abahani captain Arif Khan Joy and Mohammedan defender Hasan Al Mamun will return to tomorrow's match after one match suspension due to red card in the opening match.
Mohammedan coach Shafiqul Islam Manik, who was suspended in the opening match for his misbehaviour with the referee will also be back. Meanwhile, both the teams made warm-up in their respective club grounds this afternoon.
