MSC, Brothers jointly advance to 2nd slot

Dhaka Mohammedan SC and Brothers Union Club advanced to the 2nd slot jointly after winning the day's matches in the Citycell 2nd B League that resumed Thursday after an 11-day recess for the Eid-ul-Azha vacation, UNB reports.
Both teams secured 19 points from 10 matches and were placed joint-second in the league table after holders Dhaka Abahani Limited which have 22 points, also playing 10 matches.
Dhaka Mohammedan notched 5th victory in their 10th league match beating Khulna Abahani KC by a solitary goal at the Khulna Stadium on the day.
Egyptian medio Hazem Khaled scored the match-winner in the 34th minute.
In another match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, Brothers Union Club crushed Farashganj SC by 4-0 goals Thursday afternoon.
Henry struck twice-in the 23rd and 31st minutes-while Chibuike Divine and Rezaul Karim Liton scored one goal each in the 45th and 81st minutes respectively.
In the day's other match, hosts Chittagong Abahani outplayed Dhaka Arambagh KS, also by 4-0 goals, at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong.
Ronny struck twice-in the 57th and 76th minutes-while Mithun scored one goal in the 52nd minute. Mustafa Kaba of Arambagh netted a suicidal goal in the 52nd minute.
With the day's win, Chittagong Abahani secured 13 points from 10 matches.
