MSC force Sheikh Jamal to play 1-1 draw

Dhaka Mohammedan Sport Club forced Federation Cup champions and star-studded Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to play a 1-1 draw in a crucial match of the Bangladesh Premier Football League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city Wednesday, reports UNB.
Despite the day's draw, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club topped the points table with an unbeaten run securing 13 points from five outings while Dhaka Mohammedan SC bagged six points, also playing five matches.
In the day's nerve shattering match, medio Mezbabul Haque Manik scored for Mohammedan SC in the 60th minute while substitute forward Toklis Ahmed netted for Sheikh Jamal DC in the injury time.
Manik put Mohammedan SC ahead in the 60th minute by a spectacular shot from top of the box, when a corner of Zahid Hossain came his way from the Sheikh Jamal defender (1-0).
Mohammedan SC were reduced to 10 men in the 73rd minute as their Cameroonian defender Baybeck got marching order after receiving 2nd yellow card in the match for making foul against Sony Norde.
The black and white Mohammedan further were reduced to nine men in the 82nd minute as their winger Zahid Hossain was shown a direct red card for an off-ball charge against Sohel Rana.
Earlier in the 6th minute, Sheikh Jamal's Haitian forward Sony Norde saw his placing shot goal cancelled for an off-side.
In the 16th minute, a header of Sony Norde, off a cross of wing back Mohammad Linkon, travelled over the crosspiece.
A few minutes later, Mohammedan's goalie Titumir Chowdhury saved his castle brilliantly by gripping a header of Sheikh Jamal's Nigerian forward Emeka Darlington, off a Linkon cross.
Mohammedan winger Zahid Hossain tried his luck in the 32nd minute by a long range shot from about 35 yards but Sheikh Jamal goalie Mostak fisted the ball at the cost of a corner.
Sony Norde again headed a cross of Linkon but Titumir again punched the ball away just three minutes before the lemon break.
