MSC make flying start in Club Cup Hockey

Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club made a flying start in the Walton Club Cup Hockey outplaying Azad SC by 8-0 goal in one of the two opening day's matches at the Maulana Bhashani National Stadium in the city Thursday, reports UNB.
Chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on Youth and Sports Ministry Zahid Ahsan Russell inaugurated the meet at a simple ceremony. First Senior Deputy Director and head of the games and sports of the meet's sponsor Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar was also present as the special guest.
In the day's 2nd match, penalty corner specialist national player Mamunur Rahman Chayan made a hattrick for Mohammedan on the very first day scoring five goals, four from his favourite penalty corners and another one from penalty stroke.
Another national player Sheikh Mohammad Nannu struck two field goals while Manik netted other goal for Mohammedan SC, which dominated the first half by 2-0 goals.
Earlier in the inaugural match, Sanali Bank SRC outplayed Bangladesh Police beating them also by 8-0 goals at the same venue after leading the first half by 4-0 goals.
Rubel, Sujon, Khairul scored two goals each while Mikasa and Abdus Sajjad John netted one each for the winners.
Friday's matches: Abahani Limited vs Wari Club (2:45 pm), Usha KC vs Bangladesh SC (4:30 pm).
