M'singh, Cumilla city by-polls on Mar 9: EC

The Election Commission (EC) has announced that by-elections to Mymensingh and Cumilla city corporations will be held on March 9, reports UNB.
EC Secretary Jahangir Alam announced the election schedule at a press conference at the EC Bhaban on Wednesday.
The schedule for election to 231 other local government bodies including municipality elections was also announced.
The EC secretary said the last date for submission of nomination papers for the city corporations polls is February 13, scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on February 15, nomination withdrawal date was fixed on February 22 and symbols will be distributed on February 23.
He also said EVMs will be used in the city corporations, municipalities and zila parishad election as per the directives of Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal.
