M\\\'singh dist unit Jamaat secy among 5 held

Police have arrested Jamaat-e-Islami’s Mymensingh district unit Secretary Abdul Karim and four other leaders and activists during a clandestine meeting in Dapunia Baat Bazar area of Sadar Upazila. Officer-in-charge of Mymensingh Kotwali Police Station Fazlul Karim, confirmed the arrests. He said being informed that the Jamaat leaders and activists were holding a secret meeting around 4:45pm police conducted a drive in the area and picke up five people from the meeting. The other detainees are Din Mohammad, Ikbal Hossain, Golam Mostafa, and Manik Mia. Police claimed that they all are Jamaat and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir’s leader and workers. They were planning to carry out subversive activities in the town, according to private TV channels.
