M\\\'singh lawmaker booked for crime against humanity

MYMENSINGH, May 19 (BSS): A case was lodged today with a Mymensingh court against three persons including MA Hannan, Jatiya Party lawmaker from Trishal constituency of Mymensingh for committing crimes against humanity during the War of Liberation in 1971.
The two other accused are-Md Fakruzzaman, 64, and Golam Rabbani, 68, both from Mymensingh sadar upazila.
Rahima Khatun, widow of a martyred Freedom Fighter Abdur Rahman of Bailor Munshipara under Trishal upazila of the district filed the case with Cognizance Court No-1 this (Tuesday) noon.
The complainant alleged that MA Hannan, then secretary of Mymensingh Peace Committee and other local collaborators of Pakistan army apprehended Freedom Fighter Abdur Rahman from Bhangamari Char under Gouripur upazila here on August 9, 1971.
Later Abdur Rahman was taken to a torture cell set up on Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) campus here and Hannan himself shot him dead after torturing him. Abdur Rahman's captors also gouged out his eyes.
