MTB Foundation observes World Thalassaemia Day

The MTB Foundation, in partnership with Bangladesh Thalassaemia Hospital, observed World Thalassaemia Day 2024 with a blood donation programme and awareness session. This year's theme was 'Empowering Lives, Embracing Progress: Equitable and Accessible Thalassaemia Treatment for All'. The event was inaugurated by chief guest Syed Mahbubur Rahman, managing director and CEO of Mutual Trust Bank (MTB). Dr MA Matin, president of Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity, attended as the special guest. Syed Deedar Bakht, advisor to Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity, and Prof Dr M.A. Khan, a haematologist, were present as the guest of honour and keynote speaker respectively. Samia Chowdhury, chief executive officer of MTB Foundation, was also present.
