MTBL helps meritorious students

Mutual Trust Bank Limited (MTB) in association with Dhaka University Alumni Association (DUAA) has helped 67 meritorious and needy students of all institutes of the DU, TSC and Dhaka Medical College.

The bank helped the students as a part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) and to promote, encourage higher education and cultural activities among meritorious and needy students.

Each student gets Tk 2500. The scholarship money was handed over through MTBL gift cards at a simple ceremony in the city recently, said a press release.

Finance and Planning Adviser AB Mirza Md Azizul Islam was present at the scholarship handing over ceremony as the chief guest.

Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, Manik Lal Somaddar, was present as the special guest, while Vice Chancellor of the DU SMA Faiz was the guest of honour.

Founding chairman of the bank, former adviser of the caretaker government and President of the DUAA Syed Manzur Elahi presided over the function.

Managing Director of the bank Kazi Md Shafiqur Rahman and Secretary General of the DUAA Raquibuddin Ahmed were also present and spoke on the occasion.

On the occasion, Mr Kazi Md Shafiqur Rahman and Mr Raquibuddin Ahmed signed an agreement for five years on behalf of their respective sides.
