Mufti Izahar charged

Police have pressed charges against Mufti Izaharul Islam and his son Mufti Harun Bin Izahar in a case under Acid Control Act over a bomb explosion at a Chittagong madrasa last year. Investigation Officer and Khulshi Police Station SI Md Lokman Hossain submitted the charge-sheet at the prosecution section of Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday. As many as 34 people have been made witnesses in the charge-sheet. On Oct 7 last year, an explosion ripped through the second floor of a dormitory at the Jamayetul-Ulum-Al Islamia Madrasa, run by Hifazat-e-Islam leader Mufti Izahar, also the chief of a faction of the Islami Oikya Jote. Five students were injured – three of whom died later while under treatment. All the accused are now in jail except Mufti Izahar, according to bdnews24.com.
